View of outdoor farmers marketCal Poly's Campus Health and Wellbeing department hosts the Cal Poly Farmers' Market aimed to ensure that all students, staff and faculty have access to local, seasonal and nutritious foods.

As Cal Poly alumni know, farmers' markets are a staple tradition in San Luis Obispo. Hosting a market on campus provides an avenue for students to access nutritious foods on a biweekly basis and enhance their quality of life. It is also a great opportunity for local farmers to sell their produce and build relationships with the campus community.

Another food access program is taking place through the Food Pantry, where any student can choose from a wide variety of packaged and canned foods, fresh produce, frozen meals and personal hygiene products.

This service has been expanded to the Pop-Up Pantry, which brings student-grown fresh fruits and vegetables to those in need across campus. The goal is twofold: to share the healthy bounty of Cal Poly-grown fruits and vegetables with our campus community and to raise awareness of food access and food security issues on campus.

Cal Poly has many resources to help students access healthy, fresh food. The university is committed to ensuring all students have access to nutritious meals each day in order to stay focused on their education and success at Cal Poly.
